About Ballot
In 2026 the founder of Yost Group was the elections coordinator for a national association of Army Rangers. The election ran the way most association elections run: a roster in a spreadsheet, nominations in an email thread, and the rules in the bylaws and in the head of whoever had the job that year.
Two days in, a regional officer nominated two members for a seat the bylaws reserve for sitting regional commanders. Nobody had done anything wrong. The rule simply was not part of the process, so the coordinator had to write back, explain the bylaw, and ask for the nominations to be withdrawn.
The available products all sold the same thing: a ballot. Collecting votes was never the hard part. Knowing who may stand, knowing who may vote, recording that a candidate agreed to serve, and being able to show all of it afterwards is the hard part. That is what Ballot was built to do.
Ballot encodes your candidacy and eligibility rules, runs nominations with recorded consent, requires two people for the decisions that matter, collects confidential ballots from any phone, and produces a certification report and an audit file at the end. An association can hand that file to a challenging member, an inspector, or a manager and let it answer for itself.
What Ballot is not: it does not act as your inspector of elections, and it does not decide your rules for you. Your bylaws decide. Ballot makes the rules part of the process instead of part of somebody's memory. The security page sets out exactly what is protected and how.

The terms of service are written to be read. Where a plain reading and a legal reading differ, the plain reading is what we meant.
The security page says what is built and avoids the words we have not earned. An association putting a contested result on the table deserves precision, not adjectives.
Roster, nominations, ballots, tallies, and the audit trail export in open formats at any time. Nothing about leaving is designed to be difficult.
Yost Group LLC is a California limited liability company and a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business. Ballot is its product. The association whose election started all of this is still a customer, which means every release is used in a real election by the person who wrote it.
We are deliberately small. You will not be handed to an account manager, and the person answering your question is the person who built the feature. Write to info@yost.group with anything: a question about your bylaws, a feature you need, or a problem in the middle of an election.
If Ballot turns out not to suit your association, the first annual term is refundable within 30 days of activation, on the terms set out in the terms of service.
